Looking for Committed Partner

Hey there, my name is located to the right.

Recently, not a lot of roleplays have been working out which contain more than two people for me. I've tried a 1x1 roleplay before and my partner just disappeared on me. I'm not looking for a long term commitment, just one that can last a single week without being dropped. The longer it lasts, the better.

So let me tell you about me first and we can get to you:

Fact #1: I can do just about any character you'd want: male or female, sea creature or stick bug. If you have an idea then hit me up.

Fact #2: I literally have all the time in the world right now. Until I can get a job, I can be on here just about all day every day. Except Sunday. I'm kind of religious, but that's not a big deal.

Fact(s) #3(-????) My interests include:

-Fantasy
-Sci-fi
-Steampunk
-Romance (just about every kind)
-Medieval
-Adventure

Animes I like, only one that I'd really like to RP (I will do others that are not listed, so ask):

-Bleach
-Cowboy Bebop
-My Little Pony (Yes, for the last time. If it's that awesome it's an anime.)
-Air (This is the one I'm very anxious to do)
-Inu X Boku Secret Service

I read lots of books from Eragon to Ender's Game to Artemis Fowl, so if you like a book then ask if I've read it and I probably will say, "Yes." I will, however, not do a Hungers Game or Twilight roleplay. I have not read them and, even though I have the books, I never will. If that repulses you, I am sorry I ruined a possibly great relationship.

Now that I am past me I really only look for two qualities in a partner.

1- As I said before, be committed, if you need time off then tell me and if you want to quit please TELL me. I am a nice enough person and I won't be hurt at all. Unless you don't contact me, then we have a problem.

2- Being literate is a plus. You don't need to describe the color and smell of the ground in every post, but something more than a few words.

Welp, I think that's it. Byyyyyyyeeeeee. (Hopefully you respond though)

Romney denies criticizing Palestinian culture

WASHINGTON (AP) ? Mitt Romney says he wasn't criticizing Palestinian culture at a fundraiser in Jerusalem on Monday.

Palestinian officials accused the Republican presidential candidate of racism for suggesting that culture helps explain the economic disparity between Israelis and Palestinians

On Tuesday, Romney told Fox News that he wasn't specifically talking about Palestinian culture and doesn't plan to during the campaign.

He's downplaying a series of perceived missteps and instead blaming the media. Romney says reporters are more interested in "finding something to write" than about reporting on the economy and national security threats.

Romney prompted angry headlines across England last week when he questioned London's readiness for the Olympics.

He says the media is trying to "divert from the fact that these last four years have been tough years for our country."

(AP) ? Here's what to watch for at the London Olympics on Monday:

___

1. SWIMMING: There are four finals, with Ryan Lochte going for a second gold in the men's 200 freestyle. The less successful Michael Phelps ? a phrase many are unaccustomed to hearing ? will also be in the pool elsewhere.

2. GYMNASTICS: The first gold medal will be awarded in the men's team final.

3. SMOOTH RUNNING: There were no indications of the commuting chaos many had expected in London on the first regular business day of the Olympics. Will it last?

4. EMPTY SEATS: Expect fewer now. Organizers are having no trouble offloading tickets that weren't sold by federations.

5. HER HORSE ON THE COURSE: The queen's granddaughter, Zara Phillips, races her horse around a course featuring 28 fences, hedges and water jumps in London's oldest royal park.

NYC extends deadline for first step in parking meter contract

(Reuters) - New York City is extending by three weeks its deadline to request qualifications from bidders interested in leasing the country's largest parking system - with 80,800 parking spaces - after the companies requested additional information, a spokeswoman for Mayor Michael Bloomberg said on Monday.

Since last year, the city has been studying hiring a private manager to run the system more efficiently and install smart parking meters.

Other U.S. cities are already exploring more modern parking meters. Denver, Colorado, and Santa Monica, California, have parking meters that use underground sensors to erase leftover time. Solar-powered meters also are available as are meters that let drivers pay with mobile phones.

The companies New York City might hire to privatize its system must suggest ways in which technology could help drivers find parking spaces and give them more payment options. Drivers currently can pay at meters with cash or debit and credit cards.

The Bloomberg administration has said it will not require any upfront payment and that it will avoid some of the problems other cities have encountered with similar privatizations.

In 2008, Chicago leased its parking meters for 75 years in return for a one-time payment of $1.15 billion, but the deal is very unpopular, partly because fees rose sharply.

New York City has said it will retain control over meter rates, installation and removal of meters, operating hours of metered spaces, enforcement and adjudications.

It will also require a parking meter operator to pledge $100 million of collateral and have experience running at least 100,000 parking spaces.

Unions have contested the plan to privatize New York City's parking meters because they are concerned that the 466 unionized workers who now collect parking fees would be laid off.

Lillian Roberts, executive director of District Council 37, the largest municipal union, said on Monday that a private parking contract was unnecessary because "city parking system workers are already doing an excellent job, generating approximately $1.2 million per worker in revenue."

The city estimates that it collected $99 million in net revenue from its parking system in the 2012 fiscal year that ended on June 30. It expects that amount to rise to $124 million in 2013.

By the end of this year, New York City expects to have installed muni-meters, which allow for payment with credit and debit cards, throughout the five boroughs.

US eases sanctions on Myanmar in rare difference with Aung San Suu Kyi

Last month, Aung San Suu Kyi?advised foreign companies not to invest in the state-run Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise until it became more accountable and open.

By Simon Roughneen,?Correspondent / July 12, 2012

Myanmar opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi (l.) arrives to attend a regular session of parliament at Myanmar Lower House on Thursday, July 12, in Naypyitaw, Myanmar.

In what appeared to be a rare snub by American lawmakers for Myanmar parliamentarian and long-time detainee Aung San Suu Kyi, the United States on Wednesday gave a go-ahead for American businesses to invest in Myanmar's oil and gas sectors ? the largest easing of sanctions in the past 15 years.

?The United States is easing restrictions to allow US companies to responsibly do business in Burma," said President Obama, using the old name for Myanmar as Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi does.

Aung San Suu Kyi does support sanctions-lifting by Western countries and investment by Western business in keeping with the reforms undertaken by Myanmar's nominally-civilian government in office since March 2011. But she has expressed caution regarding the Myanmar state-run energy company, long regarded as a cesspit of corruption with tight links to the country's abusive military. Last month the National League for Democracy (NLD) parliamentarian warned that ?the Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE) ? with which all foreign participation in the energy sector takes place through joint venture arrangements, lacks both transparency and accountability at present.?

The US and some other Western governments have long taken their cue on Myanmar policy from Aung San Suu Kyi, but the Obama administration's decision on investment runs against that well-worn grain.

The US has likely taken what it sees as a pragmatic pro-business policy decision based on what it views as a combination meeting of strategic interests (countering China) and rewards as promised for the Myanmar government undertaking reforms.

The new US policy also allows American companies to bed down with MOGE, though they will be required to report annually to the State Department with evidence that their investments factor in workers' rights and the environment.

Reacting to the US announcement today, Aung San Suu Kyi told AFP that the move was ?nothing significant,? and wondered whether the US had sought some form of improved transparency from MOGE prior to the announcement.

Aung San Suu Kyi was recently-chided by the Myanmar government for continuing to call the country ?Burma,? the name of choice for opponents of Myanmar's military dictatorship, which issued a decree in 1989 changing the country's name from Burma to Myanmar in a move still controversial due to its arbitrary genesis.

The announcement came just hours after Ambassador Derek Mitchell took up post in Myanmar, the first American emissary to hold that position since 1990, when the NLD famously won a national election but was denied office by the military junta.

Are You Aware Of These Kinds Of Essential Suggestions On Home ...

Are you tired of your home? Instead of moving away, you could simply transform your house or apartment into a place where you actually enjoy living. If you have a few skills and know how to use basic tools, you should be able to follow these tips to improve your home.

Some home improvement projects are best suited for a group of people. By enlisting the help of the whole family, much more work can be done than would have been accomplished by one person. Neighbors or other friends can even be recruited, in return for the promise of future help from you.

Think you need to re-tile your bathroom? Try cleaning the tile and re-grouting first. Using this method can save you time and money over a complete re-tile project. It?s also easier to achieve by yourself. A toothbrush is a wonderful tool to use when cleaning grout. A quality steam mop can make a huge difference as well.

When creating a budget for a home improvement project, make sure that you factor in ?small? expenses like nails, tools, tape, and so forth. The cost of these surprises can really impact your overall budget and leave you scratching your head about how you spent so much. It?s better to plan for them ahead of time.

Don?t become disillusioned when your home improvement project takes longer, more money than you expected, or doesn?t turn out as planned. If you?ve prepared correctly you should have a cushion of money to cover the additional cost, or pay to hire someone to fix the mistakes you?ve made, so relax.

A very simple home improvement tip is to declutter. Start with this easy task: If you have kids, you may be guilty of cluttering your fridge with their work and little design magnets. Keep your appliances clear by attaching just some of your children?s artwork and only a few magnets at a time. You can switch these items out every week.

If you are planning a major landscaping project, plan it so that the style and construction complement the rest of your home. A garden and patio that match the style of your home will help bring the whole property together, while clashing styles will look unplanned and even unattractive.

Install ceiling fans to circulate the air in your home. During summer the fan can be adjusted to blow down, and during the winter it can adjusted to draw the air up. This increases the efficiency of the utilities in your home so that you pay less in heating and cooling costs and save energy.

When it comes to home improvement, have a plan from the start through the finish of your intended improvement. This will ensure that you stay within your budget and that you complete your intended project without the emotional factors being involved. It can be obvious both to a potential buyer and to your pocketbook if a home improvement project is made up as you go.

If you are in need of a home improvement project, consider an extension on your home. Extensions can be added to the exterior or the interior of your home and expand on space you already have but aren?t using. For example, loft spaces can be created out of rooms with cathedral ceilings, or a finished attic can act as an extra bedroom.

Home improvement projects can easily go wrong if they are not managed correctly. In this article we have discussed some important tips to help you plan, manage, and complete your next home improvement project. Following these tips can make all the difference in the world, as you plan to improve your valuable investment.

Beside creating articles about Home Improvement, Dionne Marchi also gives advice about wohnaccessoires kissen? on her personal blogs. To know more about lambert wohnaccessoires, visit www.wohnaccessoiresde.com

British military bridges Olympics security gap

LONDON ? London's Olympic organizers reeled Friday from the fallout of revelations that 3,500 British troops ? some of them just back from tours in Afghanistan ? would need to step in and help guard venues for the upcoming Olympics. That's because the security contractor, G4S, failed in its promise to deliver more than 10,000 security guards ? and didn't let anyone know until the last moment.

With only two weeks to go before the games, the embarrassing development made organizers squirm. London games chair Sebastian Coe, who had sailed on a cascade of positive news so far, found himself trying to explain why the games' sole security provider and a sponsor had produced such a mess.

"It's only when the rubber hits the road that you understand some of things that you need (to) address," Coe told reporters Friday. "When the rubber hit the road and we looked at some of the retention, some of the recruitment ... we made a very quick and very robust and prudent and judicious decision to act as we did."

The problems started to emerge only a few weeks ago. G4S failed to provide enough security guards when the stadium and the aquatics center were "locked down" ? a process that involves putting in place the tightest security ahead of the games.

The government started asking questions and, as late as Wednesday, G4S was suggesting they could still deliver.

By Thursday, Home Secretary Theresa May was facing lawmakers outraged about the debacle and the decision to send in more troops, bringing the total number of armed forces involved in the project to 17,000.

Security has been a critical concern for the Olympics ever since 11 Israeli athletes and coaches died in a terror attack at the 1972 Munich Games. British authorities have planned for a threat level for the London games of "severe," meaning an attack is "highly likely."

London itself has also been touched by terrorism, when four suicide bombers killed 52 commuters on July 7, 2005 ? the day after London was awarded the games. A huge international media presence makes the Olympics a prime target for any terror group intent on wreaking havoc on live events broadcast worldwide.

Some security analysts suggested the games might be better off by having servicemen and -women around rather than guards whose training might be substandard.

While the issue centers on securing the venues, critics wondered whether the tone of overall security for the games will shift.

National Olympic security coordinator Chris Allison wants it to be remembered as a blue games ? or dominated by police ? rather than a khaki games ? or something like the militarized look of Beijing.

"We still have many many more G4S people on this site at this very moment than the military," Coe said while on a tour of the new water polo arena.

He suggested athletes would be unconcerned about the changes.

"I've never seen athletes of any level, either from university sport or Olympic finalists, breaking off their warm-up routines to go and have their photographs taken with the military."

It was not the first time the security mix needed to be changed for games costing the British taxpayers $14.6 billion.

The total cost of securing the venues climbed to over $862 million ? not including money for the police or the new cost added by the soldiers.

Critics demanded G4S face fines ? and even Prime Minister David Cameron said companies who don't deliver on their contracts should be "pursued for that money."

G4S, which has more than 657,000 employees operating in more than 125 countries, chalked up the problems to issues vetting and recruiting staff. But comments from apparent applicants posted online painted a picture of broad-based mismanagement, disorganization and even squandered opportunities.

Potential guards took to the company's Olympics Facebook page to plead for information about where their accreditation passes and uniforms were.

Some potential guards were angry and said they had been vetted and qualified but never received marching orders ? only to learn the armed forces would be called in. Others had been vetted but still needed training.

As early as last year, Britain's National Audit Office was warning that "the need for additional manpower has also produced a significant recruitment challenge."

Len Berman: Top 5 Sports Stories

TGIF everyone here's my Top 5 for July 13, 2012 from Len Berman at www.ThatsSports.com.

1. Quick Hits

  • The All-Star break ends tonight.
  • A day after agreeing to a five-year $95 million dollar extension, Clippers star Blake Griffin injured his left knee during a team U.S.A. practice. He'll undergo surgery and miss the Olympics.
  • There's actually agreement on both sides of the aisle. Lawmakers are bi-partisan in their disdain for the U.S. Olympic uniforms being made in China.
  • "What did you have on the front nine?" "A 28." 62-year-old Tom Kite set the Senior U.S. Open nine-hole record en route to a one shot lead after the first round in Michigan. (He had 37 on the back to finish at 5-under-65.)

2. Penn State

I'm sure nobody was shocked by yesterday's findings. The expression "it's not the crime, it's the cover-up" doesn't apply here. The crime was abhorrent, and the cover-up was just as heinous. How many kids could have been "saved?" Some other thoughts. I feel bad for all the good people of Penn State. (Although L.S. disagrees with me on Facebook at "Len Berman's Top 5." She writes, "What good people at Penn State? The ones who rioted over Paterno being fired? The tens of thousands who signed a petition to rename the football stadium after a pedophile enabler?" Secondly, the Joe Paterno family really needs to go silent. Trying to defend his legacy rings awfully hollow. And finally, your turn NCAA. It'll be fascinating to see what sanctions, if any, the NCAA hands down to Penn State football. I can't believe it'll be business as usual during Saturdays this fall at State College.)

3. Hall of Shame

Here you go Hall of Fame fans. If you're not going to let a "bad guy" in, why don't you toss the "bad guys" out? Pete Rose, baseball's all-time hit leader is banned for activities that had nothing to do with his playing career, yet O.J. Simpson and Joe Paterno remain firmly ensconced in their Halls. You can't have it both ways.

4. Friday eMailbag

With my defense of Reggie Jackson for "speaking the truth" when he said that A-Rod's records are tainted by steroid use, L.C. tweeted me @LenBermanSports, "Truth? What about loyalty? What about not airing dirty laundry? What about professionalism? Reggie cares only about Reggie."

As for the anonymous Sports Illustrated poll of players who voted many of the Yankees as "overrated, I suggested it was "Pinstripe envy," S.A. writes, "Wonder what team those same players would say they want to play on if SI did another anonymous poll and asked that question. I'd bet a bunch it's the same Yankee team."

With the Pitt Panthers recruiting a kicker named Chris Blewitt. H.K. asks, "Who's his sister? Misty Upright?"

And with an Australian rugby player accused of urinating in his shorts to keep players from the other team at bay, T.B. writes, "I never thought you indulged in yellow journalism."

5. Spanning the World

Los Angeles (July 13 2012). Nuclear weapons testing may at first glance appear to have little connection with climate change research. But key Cold War research laboratories and the science used to track radioactivity and model nuclear bomb blasts have today been repurposed by climate scientists. The full story appears in The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, published by SAGE.

In his article for the July-August issue of the Bulletin, "Entangled histories: Climate science and nuclear weapons research," University of Michigan historian Paul Edwards notes that climate science and nuclear weapons testing have a long and surprisingly intimate relationship. In the wake of the Fukushima disaster, for example, the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty Organization tracked the radioactive plume emanating from damaged Japanese nuclear reactors via a global network of monitoring stations designed to measure airborne radionuclides. That network is a direct descendant of systems and computer models created to trace the fallout from weapons tests, Edwards explains.

But ways of tracking radiation as it moves through the atmosphere have applications that extend far beyond the nuclear industry. Tracing radioactive carbon as it cycles through the atmosphere, the oceans, and the biosphere has been crucial to understanding anthropogenic climate change.

Mathematical models with nuclear science roots have also found a place in the environmental scientists' toolboxes. The earliest global climate models relied on numerical methods, very similar to those developed by nuclear weapons designers, for solving the fluid dynamics equations needed to analyze shock waves produced in nuclear explosions.

The impacts of nuclear war on the climate represent another major historical intersection between climate science and nuclear affairs. Without the work done by nuclear weapons designers and testers, scientists would know much less than they do now about the atmosphere. In particular, this research has contributed enormously to knowledge about both carbon dioxide, which raises Earth's temperature, and aerosols, which lower it. Without climate models, scientists and political leaders would not have understood the full extent of nuclear weapons' power to annihilate not only human beings, but other species as well.

Facilities built during the Cold War, including US national laboratories constructed to create weapons, now use their powerful supercomputers, expertise in modeling, and skills in managing large data sets to address the threat of catastrophic climate change. This has benefitted the labs themselves -- without a new direction, the argument to continue funding these laboratories would have been less compelling -- and the science and scientists who are studying climate change.

"Today, the laboratories built to create the most fearsome arsenal in history are doing what they can to prevent another catastrophe this one caused not by behemoth governments at war, but by billions of ordinary people living ordinary lives within an energy economy that we must now reinvent," Edwards says.

iMore is now hiring: World's best news, app, and accessory writers wanted!

We're not going lie -- blogging is one of the best jobs in the world, and blogging about Apple is one of the best jobs in blogging. You get to dive deep into all the technology, apps, and accessories you love, and you get paid to do it. But here's the thing -- it's not easy. Almost anyone can write a post. Very few can write creatively, quickly, and most important, consistently, day in, day out. If you're one of those few, we'd love for you to join the iMore and Mobile Nations team.

We're looking for people who can find and craft absolutely the best stuff to post about and post about it in absolutely the best looking, most readable and relatable way possible. We don't want to cover everything, we want to cover what matters the most.

  • News writer: You love everything that's interesting about Apple and know how to sort the real stories from the rubbish rumors. You don't just regurgitate but you have a knack for context and a talent for finding fresh, creative angles. You can explain what a story is, what it means, and why it matters in a way that's compelling for fellow geeks yet accessible for mainstream readers. You're a machine, but one with a ton of heart.

  • App writer: Whether it's the latest To-Do software or the sequel to the hottest game ever, you can quickly digest it, figure out what's great, what's not so great, and write it up powerfully and succinctly. You're comfortable approaching and talking to developers, and are able to sort through the deluge of new and update apps that hit the store, ditch the duds, and find the gems that'll make our readers lives better, or just more fun. You understand embargoes, NDAs, and deadlines, but most of all, you love apps and love helping others get the most out of them. (Massive bonus points if you're also adept at music, productivity, business software, and/or hardcore gaming.)

  • Accessory writer: You always have the latest iPhone and iPad and are constantly on the lookout for the best cases, chargers, stands, keyboards, stylus pens, and everything in-between and above and beyond. You have a great eye for detail and can rapidly assess fine points and flaws alike. You understand the difference between cost and value, and can determine not just whether something is good or not, but for what kind of user. You're happy talking to manufacturers and their PR reps, and are capable of producing high quality, hands-on videos and photography.

  • How-to writer: You're the person friends and family ask "how do I--" and you're the person who invariably has the answer. You're a teacher, trainer, tester, and tinkerer all rolled into one, and you're able to break down complex tasks into easy to follow steps. You're not just there to provide directions, but to help people get more our of their devices and apps. You're excellent at finding hidden features and creative workarounds alike, and even better at sharing what you find. You know how to leverage a community for help, and how to help a community right back.

No experience is necessary, but the more experience you have, the better. Blogging is awesome, but it's an incredible amount of work. You need to want to be great, to take enormous pride in your work, to never settle for second best, and to never, not ever miss a deadline.

If we've just described you, and you just know you'd be a perfect fit, here's what to do:

  • Send an email to news@imore.com with one of the following Subject lines:
    • News writer application
    • App writer application
    • Accessory writer application
    • How-to writer application
  • Include your basic information:
    • Who you are
    • Where you are
    • Your contact info
    • What kind of schedule you can work
    • Why you want to write for iMore
  • Include samples:
    • Original work only
    • Short, informational features only (not looking for editorials or features here).
    • Written in the iMore style
    • Plain text only, no attachments
    • (Seriously, attachments will cause your email to be filtered out before we get it.)

Please do follow directions exactly, it's vitally important in blogging. We won't be able to get back to everyone, but if you look like a good fit, we'll get back to you asap.

iMore is looking for a few great writers. Are you one of them?

Mitt Romney gestures during remarks to volunteers working at the Care and Share Food Bank of Southern Colorado to distribute food to those affected by the wild fire at the on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 in Colorado Springs, Colo. (AP Photo/Evan Vucci)

(AP) ? Mitt Romney isn't going to win the black vote. But he's making a pitch to African-Americans at the NAACP's annual meeting, giving a major speech that's also aimed at showing independent and swing voters that he's willing to reach out to diverse audiences ? and demonstrating that his campaign and the Republican Party he leads are inclusive.

Romney's advisers say he plans to focus, as he usually does, on the economy. The 14.4 percent unemployment rate among blacks is much higher than the 8.2 percent national average. He's also likely to mention his plan to increase school choice ? he's called education the "civil rights issue of our era."

It's a difficult sell ? 95 percent of blacks backed President Barack Obama in 2008. But no matter what Romney tells the NAACP on Wednesday, Republicans and Democrats say he's making a statement just by speaking to the nation's oldest civil rights group.

"The first thing you need to do is show up, so I ultimately think he's doing the right thing," said Rep. Tim Scott, R-S.C., one of two black Republicans in Congress. "What he's saying to everyone is that he's (running to become) America's president and not just those folks he thinks he can get votes from right now. I think that's a very important statement."

"You've got to get credit for showing up ? for being willing to go ? no question," said Karen Finney, a Democratic consultant who worked in the Clinton White House. "It's more about your actions than it is about what you say."

Obama spoke to the group during his 2008 campaign, as did his Republican opponent, Sen. John McCain. Obama doesn't plan to speak this year ? instead, Vice President Joe Biden will address the annual convention on Thursday. Obama plans to address the Urban League later this month.

Romney rarely speaks to a predominantly black audience at political events. One exception was a May visit to a charter school in Philadelphia, where he cast fixing the education system as a way to help blacks and other minorities.

In framing education as a civil rights issue, Romney is following in George W. Bush's footsteps. At a sweeping address to the NAACP in 2000, Bush, then the Republican presidential nominee, said the education system should "leave no child behind" ? and he labeled the "soft bigotry of low expectations" as part of the problem facing black students.

The likely 2012 Republican nominee has a personal history with civil rights issues. Romney's father, George, spoke out against segregation in the 1960s and as governor of Michigan toured his state's inner cities as race riots wracked Detroit and other urban areas across the country. He went on to lead the Housing and Urban Development Department, where he pushed for housing reforms to help blacks.

Mitt Romney invoked that legacy during a 2007 interview on NBC's "Meet the Press": "My dad's reputation ... and my own has always been one of reaching out to people and not discriminating based upon race or anything else."

In recent months, Obama has approached race from an intensely personal perspective. After the shooting of unarmed black teen Trayvon Martin in a Florida neighborhood ? an act many blacks saw as racially motivated ? Obama spoke directly to Martin's parents from the Rose Garden. "If I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon," Obama said.

Diminished enthusiasm for the president in the wake of the economic downturn could dampen black turnout. And that could make the difference in Southern states Obama won in 2008, particularly North Carolina and Virginia.

Other factors could keep blacks away from voting booths. Romney's address to the group comes as Democrats and minority communities are expressing concern over a series of tough voter identification laws in a handful of states. Critics say the laws could make it harder for blacks and Hispanics to vote.

"He'll be standing in that room asking people for their votes at the same time that Republican legislators are trying to disenfranchise minority communities," said Finney, the Democratic consultant.

Romney expressed support for such laws during a late April visit to Pennsylvania, which now has one of the toughest voter identification statutes in the nation. "We ought to have voter identification so we know who's voting and we have a record of that," Romney said then.

Micron Associates 5 Tips to face your Personal Finances during ...

http://paulsheider.multiply.com/journal/item/15/Micron-Associates-5-Tips-to-face-your-Personal-Finances-during-Bankruptcy
1.Consult your credit counselor.
Credit counseling can help you understand the importance of filing bankruptcy, and you may learn ways to avoid future bankruptcies. Credit counseling may be required before you can file bankruptcy. Counselors normally review the information you provide and offer suggestions based on the information.
2.Make familiar with your debts.
Here, you may surrender with your assets in bankruptcy, reiterate debt and liberate debt. When you inspect your personal finances, consider the debt that won?t be discharged during bankruptcy. Keep a list of the companies that are included in your bankruptcy and sort your bills based on the list.
3.Meet with a financial advisor or CPA.
Professionals in both these fields can reconcile your bank statements, help you establish a budget and provide you with investment and tax advice. Disclose all financial information to them so that they can do their jobs.
4.Create a budget plan and set realistic goals for every category.
Stop paying for debts that are included in your bankruptcy. Be sure you make payments for assets, such as your house or car, which you will keep after filing for bankruptcy. Include future payments for student loans that may currently be in deferment or leniency.
5.Pay for all purchases with a debit card or check.
This way all your transactions show on your bank statement and you can track your spending. Micron Associates also suggest allocating each transaction into your budget categories. And, use your bank statement to reconcile your account and make adjustments to your future budgets as needed.

Electrical Wiring, Components, and the Water Damage Threat - How to

Every house will encounter water damage at some point, and some of that may be significant. With electrical wiring running through each room in our homes, the potential for further complications becomes clear. Water can wreck electrical systems, and even the best case situations may require substantial cleaning, repair, and inspection prior to a given component may be used again.

If you are facing a flood or other severe weather event, there is always the likelihood you may have to leave your residence. Know where the electrical box is so that you will be able to shut off all electricity at the source. Electrical items should be moved to higher levels in the home. Larger gadgets such as washer/dryers or refrigerators may be elevated as much as probable. Every little bit helps.

Power outlets and the aforementioned electrical box can also be moved to higher levels on the wall; an average of 12 inches over any projected flood levels really should do it. This sort of work should always be carried out by a qualified electrician.

After any sort of water damage, reconnecting the power may have to be properly authorized by your local power organization, and this authorization may only come after any repairs have been manufactured and proper documentation has been submitted.

Electrical items damaged by water should not be reactivated until they have been properly inspected, since there is a chance of really serious injury or fire. Any items that have been totally submerged should be trashed ; it will cost more to attempt and repair them than it would to basically replace them.

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GCFI) are inexpensive devices that can be used to help prevent the likelihood of electrical shock when working with appliances or pumps.

Your home?s electrical wiring may perhaps also require replacement relying on the type of wire used, the age of the wire, and the degree of the damage. In many cases where damage is not readily apparent, replacement might still be the favored selection.

A licensed electrician is the tech of choice when it comes to right evaluation of your property?s electrical concerns, what should be replaced, and what may be restored. Any devices that are thrown out must be destroyed in order to stop somebody else from attempting to re-activate them.

Electrical problems as the end result of water damage should always be taken significantly, and treated with the ultimate care and caution. Failure to do so may result in further damage to the household or critical injury to the occupants.

Chinese Group to Buy Hawker Beechcraft

Financial Times | July 09, 2012 | 09:44 PM EDT

Hawker Beechcraft, the troubled jet maker owned by Goldman Sachs Capital Partners and Onex, has agreed to sell itself to a Chinese aviation company for $1.79 billion.

The potential sale to aerospace manufacturer Superior Aviation Beijing could secure Hawker?s future after it filed for bankruptcy protection this year. Superior would keep Hawker Beechcraft?s existing operations, the Kansas-based company said in a statement on Monday.

Goldman and Onex, the Canadian private equity firm, bought Hawker Beechcraft in 2007 for $3.3 billion, loading the company up with debt at the height of the market for business jets. The industry has suffered since the onslaught of the financial crisis, with global sales of general aviation aircraft tumbling from 4,272 in 2007 to about 1,865 last year, causing the company to struggle to repay its creditors.

Hawker in May filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and began reviewing options, including continuing as a standalone business or an outright sale. A reorganization plan filed in June would give control of the company to secured creditors, canceling out the equity stakes owned by Goldman and Onex.
